Process
The DOING is as important as the final product. The making of the game helps build confidence and presentational skills.
Step by step process:
#1 The GameGuy comes to your class or school to find out wht the students are working on and get a sense of what kind of game would best serve the subject matter and engage the kids.
#2 The GameGuy shows students a game or two and explains how they can make their own game (with his help).
#4 The GameGuy guides or advises students how to prepare content: if applicable, he records their presentations (questions, answers, challenges, commentary)
#5 The GameGuy returns to emcee the game with the class. The teacher/school receives a digital copy of the game.
#6 Optionally, we can showcase the game online for the kids/parents to play anytime, anywhere... and/or provide a link to download the game for Windows or Mac.
• students learn more by doing (than by hearing or observing)
• kids love games
• kids focus better on video than text or graphics
• kids tend to play the same computer games repetedly.
By creating a curriculum based game, the more students play, the more they learn!
